Skegness 2020 Vision

Skegness 2020 Vision is hear to enable the people of Skegness to have their say in how the Town develops up to the year 2020.

The Skegness Group, which has counterparts in many rural towns and parishes in England, is funded largely by Skegness Town Council  but also by central government through Community Lincs. It is nonetheless completely independent of local and central government.

Although the "Plan" is known as a "Parish Plan" in villages and a "Town Plan" in towns it is in fact exactly the same thing. Official literature tends to call it it a "Parish Plan" for the sake of simplicity.

Skegness 2020 Vision currently consists of representatives of many groups in Skegness and its current  brief is to engage in consultation about what residents in Skegness want. Once a consultation process has been completed action groups will be formed from a much broader membership (of both representatives and individual people who wish to be involved) to progress, and if necessary change, specific aims.

Who Can Join?

Currently the Town Plan is in a very early stage and only representatives of organisations are being invited to participate in its Steering Group.

Please contact us if you think your group should be represented on it. Telephone: 01 754 766 113 or info@Skegness2020.org.uk

Once some basic consultation has taken place (largely about what residents and visitors are interested in) the group will become much wider with groups of people of all ages pursuing individual aims and projects.
